I like the Vango Omega 350 as it's a 3 man tent with a riser groundsheet for the awning and alloy poles. Weighs in at 5kgs.

That looks like a bloody good tent. A lot of people i know have bought ultra lightweight one man stuff.....only to find out after a week in the pissing rain that there's not much space in one when you're waiting for the weather system to pass.

I'm trying to upload a photo of the hardware portion of the gear I took to Prudhoe bay/Inuvik this year. It might be a useful visual reference instead of having to explain all components (naturally I'll answer any queries as well).

Have you approached suppliers to sponsor you for the specialist expensive kit you're going to need?

So far the only people that have thought of sponsoring me are Rock Oil. I'm going to use their Synthesis 4 Racing oil to extend the oil changes and Rock are going to inspect/examine the old oil to see how it fared. I expect to get 4000miles from it instead of the 2500 Kms service interval!

The Omega 350 is a fabulous tent and I erected it at a friend's house on Sunday.
