Nice to see the diary coming together already with some nice photo's. Andy seems to be making good progress so far with only a minor and easy fix ailment with the diff drain washer. Keep plodding Andrew and good luck.
A word on Natashas. I ran across these ladies when i went to Hungary a while back. At first i thought they wanted a lift on the back of my VFR, and then the penny dropped. One way to earn a living i guess.
Budapest. It's actually one word but the city is made up of two halves Buda, the hilly side and Pest, the flat side. Used to live there when i was a kid so thought i'd clear that up.
Glad the accident was only a minor one and all is well. Odd problem with the Garmin that you had back in Austria but least it's all sorted now. The Where Am I? feature works fine and i'm sure many of us are following you as you pass through the Ukraine. Safe journey and awaiting updates :)
That's the second week out of the way and now the fun starts in Mongolia, really looking forward to that. The bike factory was pretty much as i expected it to be, very old school. I can't imagine my Triumph 800 was built in a place like that.
Watch the food, having spent time there in the past, what you order sometimes isn't what you get. I remember i ordered a steak once and chicken turned up, was the same for everyone at our hotel as that's all they had :)
Sorry to hear of your mechanical issues, but something tells me you're in the right part of town. This is where taking the Ural makes sense as i'm hoping you'll find the parts you need. Wouldn't surprise me if they stripped another Ural down to get you what you need.
Good there are a few other travellers in the general vicinity. Look on the bright side, you're almost there now. Hope the rest of the journey is less awkward :)
I won't bore with my bike trip today, 29 degrees, sunny, lovely tarmac, ice cream.... i'll shut up now.
Fantastic tracking your progress Andy and the photos are just awesome! Look forward to hearing all about your adventure at the TVTR meet on your safe return! Karrie and Stuart
It's gone very quiet out there in Ural land. You were last heard of in Linz on tuesday but your blog fizzles out at the start of June 12. Everything ok? Your public awaits.......... :)
